Eleanor N. Leaman, 94, of Parkersburg, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Worthington Manor surrounded by her family.
Eleanor was born April 28, 1923 in Wilkes-Barre, PA to Richard and Nellie {Davis} Palin. Eleanor was a medical surgical tech in the Women's Army Corp during World War II.
She married Reverend Jacob "Dick" Leaman on March 18, 1946, who passed away August 14, 2014 after 68 years of marriage. Eleanor served by her husbands side for the United Methodist Conference as ministers of Christ at Palastine, Glenville, Gassaway and Anstead churches.

Ellie will be deeply missed by three sons, David R. (Ann) Leaman of Loudin, TN Franklin P. (Karen) Leaman of Springhill, FL & Joseph R. (Kristin) Leaman of Parkersburg; two daughters, Ellen R. (John) Bauman of Highlands, NC and Nancy V. Charlton of Parkersburg; grandchildren Christopher Butler, Justin Butler, Lorien Fay, Heidi Leaman, Hannah Leaman, Lauren Leaman, Jacqualin Leaman, Rebecca Cornell, John Charlton, Catherine Charlton, and Caryn Woofter. Eleanor also leaves behind eleven great grandchildren; brother Richard (Marsha) McCabe of Houston, TX
She was preceded in death by her brother Paul Schaffer.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 18th from 1 to 3 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Flo Ann Crawford officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.sunsetparkersburg.com.
